The 2005 study group on crystallographic education

The education committees of the American Crystallographic Association (ACA)  and USNC/Cr organized a crystallography education summit, which took place June 1-2, 2005 at the conclusion of the ACA national meeting in Orlando, FL. A broad range of individuals known for their experience and contributions in crystallography education and training participated in this summit. The outcome of this process is the consensus policy statement on crystallography education and training available here.

The book follows the recommended curriculum established by the US National Academies Committee for Crystallography - BR is a panel member of this committee. See 2006 study group worksheet here.

These are the workshop notes on the poster board - some make good thought questions for your students. Click here for a large image.

Web resources

Supplemental material, sample data, new developments, and links to other resources and web sites will be available electronically. This work is scheduled for late 2009 following the production phase. We are also exploring the new iSee-technology for dynamic presentation annotated structure information.
