C300/C400 Checkouts
Your Goal: You want to transition into pressurized, high altitude, cabin-class aircraft. With sufficient multi-engine instrument time, we can familiarize you with our C-340 and evaluate your proficiency in a few hours. To receive a thorough checkout, including a high altitude endorsement (FAR 61.31.g) for operations above Flight Level 250 (25,000 ft), you will need about 2.5 hrs flight time and ~3 hrs ground instruction. Full insurance checkouts (example for C-340,400 Series) are available and arrangements for block time (10-25 hrs) can be made. Contact Airpower, LLC, for current aircraft insurance rates. All your transition training into Techically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) follows scenario-based FAA Industry Training Standards (FITS).
Specific parts of the checkouts are conducted in a FAA approved Elite RC-1 full vision (5 screen) simulator powered by X-plane at our affiliated partner California Airways in Hayward, CA. Examples include RTO (rejected takeoff) simulation, rapid decompression-VNE descents, and single engine approaches to CAT I or CAT II minimums.
